Our community was born as a result of the excitement of America's
1889 pioneers as they settled here after the Land Run, and, as she
was then, we are now, a city alive with unique shops, businesses
and professionals making a difference for Guthrie's future in the
21st Century.
From excellent early childhood educational programs to cutting
edge health care and senior living options, our community provides
an extraordinary way of life for all kinds of people, from young
families to retirees. Our business community is varied and with
the development of the Edmond Guthrie Regional Airport, we
enjoy unparallelled access.
Quiet, tree lined streets dominate our internal landscape as
beautiful neighborhoods spring up around local golf courses
and lakes across the countryside. Our historic downtown district
is a National Historic Landmark and hosts thousands of visitors
each year from around the world. It is also a vibrant residential
neighborhood with numerous apartment homes and B&B rooms
located above and along side downtown businesses.
Numerous festivals, parades and celebrations lend excitement
to our downtown each year and attract visitors from near and far.
The Guthrie Chamber of Commerce/CVB has set goals to advance
the economic, cultural and civic climate of the Guthrie area.
We are a non-profit membership organization that provides
networking opportunities to our membership and serves as
information-central for our tourism efforts. Along with the City
of Guthrie and many other support organizations, we promote
tourism in many ways including this web site.
