Visit Guthrie In September . . .

September is packed full of fun in Guthrie! The summer temperatures are starting to drop, and there's plenty to enjoy outdoors and in. Live music, theatre performances, great food, car shows, haunted houses and more!


A new season begins at the Pollard Theatre! Kicking things off on September 2 is [title of show] (that's actually the name of the show, not a blog editor mistake :-).

4 actors. 1 Piano. NO FILTER.

[title of show] — follows Hunter and Jeff and their friends on their journey through the gauntlet of creative self-expression. In the span of 90 minutes they write and perform their show at the New York Music Theatre Festival and learn lessons about themselves as people, friends and artists.

Bring the whole family to the Beacon Drive-In Theatre! Sept 2-4 you can catch Easter Sunday on the big screen. Show starts at dusk. Admission is $7 for adults (12+) and $4 for kids (3-11). The Beacon has been bringing the movie magic to Guthrie since 1950!

39th Annual Guthrie Road Celebration

Cars, trucks and motorcycles show off at historic Mineral Wells Park, 901 S. Division. Food trucks, goodie bags, prizes, music, friendly people. One of the longest running car shows in Oklahoma since 1983, the Guthrie Road Celebration is not one to miss, whether you like to show off your ride or just enjoy as a spectator. Plenty of shade at the park, with fun stuff for the kids: playground, basketball/tennis courts, splashpad, and fishing.


Second Saturday Stroll

Saturday, September 10, 5 p.m.-7 p.m.

Downtown Guthrie

This "Stroll" is hosted by the downtown merchants every second Saturday through November. Amazing boutiques, antique stores, a yarn shop, game shop, art galleries, stores with specialty chocolate, candy, drinks, ice cream and more are all located in a four-block area.

Street Performers: Catch talented "buskers", performing for tips, either inside or outside the shops. Art Walk: Check out guest artists showing what they like to create and share. This is not a vendor fair, this is downtown Guthrie merchants inviting you for an evening stroll to see the shops, guest artists and performers, and maybe your friends, neighbors, and visitors! Plan to visit our local restaurants for dinner before/after the Stroll.

Hunt Brothers Band in Concert

Double Stop Music Hall

Some of the best live bluegrass music in Oklahoma is right here in Guthrie. The Hunt Brothers Band (Andrew Hunt, Jonathan Hunt and Sam Grounds, David Meyer) bring virtuoso string band talent to the Double Stop Music Hall. Tickets are only $15 at the door, free for kids 12 and under. Doors open at 7:00pm.
