Natural light (particularly north light) has been the light of choice for artists for centuries. Why is this so? In this workshop, we will dive into the many reasons why. Topics include understanding natural light vs. artificial light, sunny days vs. overcast days, sunrise/sunsets, north light, using the Richard Schmid color charts, and more. After an instructor demo, participants will do shorter painting exercises before lunch, followed by a longer painting in the afternoon.
Note: All painting will be done from life, and this is a wonderful opportunity to paint in north light in the newly renovated upstairs Studio at Terra Rosa!
