'Tis the Season for Festivals and Fun!

November and December combine for a season of gatherings with friends and families, of trips or stay-cations, or hosting travelers, and of preparations for end-of-year festivals and celebrations.

November 10 5:30pm, Carnegie Library steps. "Flames of Memory" ceremony and candlelight display honoring veterans.

November 11 10:30am (Parade cancelled due to cold weather) Veterans Day Honor Ceremony will be at Guthrie High School, featuring band and choir. Afterwards, donuts & coffee for Vets at American Legion, and later 1:00pm free lunch for veterans & families.

November 11 Opening day reception for Terra Rosa Art Gallery & Creative Space, 111 E. Oklahoma Ave., 5pm-7pm, the public is welcome.

November 12 Second Saturday Stroll, downtown art, live music, bingo game and shopping, 3pm to 7pm stroll, performers begin at 5pm.

November 12-19 Barrel Futurities; November 24-27 Rising Stars Roping, Lazy E Arena

November 24 Turkey Trot 5K Run, starts 9AM, Harrison & 1st Street, benefits veterans of Logan County. See Lebron Post 58 Facebook for registration info.

November 24 Annual General T. L. Daniels’ Community Thanksgiving Dinner & Open Mic, 11:30am-2:00pm, American Legion Center, 123 N. 1st Street. Admission is Free!

Music in November:

November Saturday nights Live music at 8pm at Mack & Ike's Saloon, downtown.

November 5 & 19 Bluegrass Show with The Hunt Brothers at the Music Hall downtown. $15 adults, 12 & under free, 7:30pm.

November 11 Veterans Day at The Guthrie Depot, veterans are free to the show by One-Eyed Jack bluegrass band, 7pm, $20, please call 405-627-0263 for reservations.

November 12 Cowboy/Western songs & stories by Cowboy Jim Garling @ Double Stop Music Hall, 7:30pm, doors open 7pm. $15 cash/check.

November 19 Magnolia Moon concerts presents "Dawn & Hawkes". Doors open at 7:00pm, casual dinner buffet, 8:00pm concert, $60 for catered dinner and show. (405) 209-4279 to reserve.

OK, Get Ready for the Holidays!

Guthrie has four great weekends of celebrating!

Live show at The Pollard Theatre presents "A Territorial Christmas Carol" - November 26- December 23, Thursdays and weekends.

Three Saturdays of shopping and holiday activities: first Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 26 - 9am-5pm is Opening Day & Small Business Saturday Sidewalk Sale and Street Festival, and at 6pm our Lighted Parade and “Territorial Governor” inauguration. The following first two Saturdays of December, Dec. 3 & 10, feature shops open 12 noon to 9pm, (plus Distinctive Home Tour, Dec. 3 only, 10am-4pm), historical shops, window scenes, street vendors, costumed visitors and citizens dressed in Victorian/early-day clothing, plus "steampunk" style, new this year. 5pm to 9pm see and hear musicians, artists and dancers, “live” windows. December 16 & 17 - Two days of holiday lights, family fun, vendors and food, a "downtown cruise", and a Saturday firework show finale! See Facebook details: A Very Merry Guthrie Christmas.
