Experience an outdoor light display at the Cottonwood Flats, viewed by guests from the comfort of their own vehicle between now and December 25. 100,000 lights, 70+ wrapped trees, 40+ wireframe displays, inflatables and other decorations. This 7-block drive-thru display is dedicated to brightening the lives of others. Free of charge--donations accepted. All proceeds go to purchase Christmas presents for Guthrie's nursing home residents.

The Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport, in partnership with the Guthrie Public Library, is excited to present Santa’s Sweet Landing on Saturday, December 13th from 9:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Santa will land at 10:00 a.m., so plan to arrive about 15 minutes early to catch his arrival. Afterward, visitors can enjoy treats from the Doughnutteryofokc, and take family photos with Santa at Hangar #2.

Holiday Cookie Contest

Three categories will be offered: Sugar Cookie, Chocolate Chip, and Open Class (any other cookie). Ten entry spots are available for each category, and each contestant may submit one entry per category. Entry sign-up sheets are available in the Event Binder at the Guthrie Public Library.

Each entry must include at least 12 cookies presented on the participant’s own plate or platter. Cookies will be judged on presentation, texture, and taste.

Cookie contest drop-off is from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. No late entries can be accepted.

Judging will begin at 11:30 a.m., with final decisions by 12:30 p.m.

They are also partnering with United Way of Logan County to collect hygiene items for families in need this holiday season. Most-needed items include deodorant, shampoo, body wash or bar soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, toilet paper, and laundry detergent.

Shop & see live Christmas windows, music, costumes, dancing & shows on December 6 and December 13, 5-9 p.m. Sip wassail or hot chocolate, visit with Santa, take a carriage ride, and enjoy the sights and sounds of yesteryear Christmas in our historic town.
